What is Ginastica Natural?

In constant motion and with several combinations of different moves, Ginastica Natural is based on Jiu-Jitsu's ground movement, strength exercises using the body's own weight, and dynamic stretching and breathing techniques. There are hundreds of movements, with different class plans every day. It is a complete body of work that develops physical qualities like strength, flexibility, coordination, among others, and through breathing techniques provides the practitioner with great progress in mental and motor control. Romano has his own specific training routine and new sequences and exercises are being created every day to offer practitioners different and innovative ways to get to know and control the body and mind.

Ginastica Natural was developed by Alvaro Romano who created Ginastica Natural for fighters using his years of experience as a Jiu-Jitsu fighter, keeping up with the sport’s evolution by training athletes and participating in events around the world. Alvaro Romano is a Jiu-Jitsu black belt, his master was Rolls Gracie, and he later trained with Carlos Gracie Junior and Rickson Gracie.

His evolutionary foresight has enhanced the sport of brazilian jiu jitsu as well as brazilian jiu jitsu having been the sport that enhanced his evolutionary foresight. So the two go hand in hand in the improvement of our bodies and minds, which is the core purpose of both.

Gracie Barra Naples brazilian jiu jitsu school is moving to a bigger and better location! our new 2,500 foot facility is located at 771 Airport Rd. naples fl. 34104. The new school will open December 3-2011. We are estatic about our move and look forward to all the awesome training to come in 2012!

Professor Paulo humbly accepted the honor saying the new rank only inspired him and solidified his life's work. Professor Paulo has been a black belt a decade and absolutely loves his profession and only wants to share his knowledge with others eager to learn his gentle art. Miami Open!

Saturday, October 23rd Professor Paulo and some students participated in the Miami Open tourament. This is an official IBJJF tournament, which is one of the best events to go to. No white and blue belt refs, only certified black belt judges. We came home with 5 medals! 2 Bronze, 1 Silver and 2 Golds! Congrats to A.J. VanCamp , Brandon Russell, Ed Stojinski, Natalie Cavin Ribeiro and Randy Sheaffer! Awesome job guys and gals! Also a great big thank you to all the GB team members and families who came out to support!

Gracie Barra Naples is having a can food drive for those of us less fortunate this upcoming Holiday season. All cans will be donated to the St. Matthews house in Naples. Every student is asked to bring in at least 2 cans. All of our GBN kids are encouraged to bring in as many cans as they can. My Friend and my Prof. Diojone Farias' wife Bianca Barreto won her 6th World championship this past June in California! As well as one of Gracie Barra Naples own Natalie Cavin Ribeiro my wife, after only three months of giving birth, fought in purple belt division and placed 2nd! I am very happy and very proud of my Friends and Family who competed in California!

As an official IBBJF & USBJJF recognized Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school; and Prof. Paulo Ribeiro a recognized 2nd degree black belt. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is now seeing its fair share of well warranted popularity but with the good also comes the bad so because of this we are also seeing a lot of wannabes schools, where non certified and unqualified people are teaching BJJ. Jiu Jitsu World Championship

I'm back on Naples after a one week break in Long Beach, California, where I watched the 2009 Jiu Jitsu World Championship. It has been a very good cometition (the 3rd World Championship in US) and I noticed that the level of the competitor is getting better year after year.

It was also a very good opportunity to watch Bianca, Professor Dijione's wife, winning the final in only 30 seconds by submission!! It was the fastest submission in the competition.

By the way, Bianca and Dijione are going to be in our school in Naples on October 2009 for a Seminar with our students.

Congrats to Bianca!!
